New Horizon Europe project 'Minority Report' kicked-off
Mitigating Environmental Disruptive Events using People-Centric Predictive Digital Technologies to Improve Disaster and Climate Resilience
Today marks the start of the kickoff meeting for Minority Report: Mitigating Environmental Disruptive Events using People-Centric Predictive Digital Technologies to Improve Disaster and Climate Resilience.
Despite advancements in predictive digital systems, many urban areas remain vulnerable to disruptive climate events due to complex environments and data gaps. Minority Report aims to address these challenges by creating a people-centric technology platform that integrates:
Innovative predictive digital technologies
Rigorous models for risk assessment and categorization
Advanced weather forecasting and early warning systems
BIM, digital twins, monitoring systems, and DSS
Energy simulations and AI-based behavioral models
New approaches from SSH with over 20 co-creation events
Deep renovation passports with multiple deep retrofit solutionsÂ
The ultimate goal is to deliver a technology platform that supports a sustainable circular value chain for construction and renovation. This platform aims to improve climate change mitigation and disaster resilience with significant environmental targets: 70% energy savings, 30% carbon footprint reduction, and 60% environmental impact reduction.
The universal co-creation framework will be applied across three demo sites in Dublin (IE), Patras (GR), and Wellington (NZ). Each site represents distinct climatic areas and shares common and local challenges, providing valuable insights for broader applications.
