E2ARC participated to the 12th European Urban Resilience Forum
The forum took place from 25 to 27 June in Rotterdam (NL), demonstrating that resilience had already been built across Europe, while underlining the urgent need to scale up efforts to meet future challenges.
Over more than a decade, the European Urban Resilience Forum (EURESFO) has proven itself as a pivotal initiative in advancing resilience in Europe. Organised by ICLEI together with the European Environment Agency (EEA), it has consistently acted as a unique exchange platform that brings together city representatives, experts, and stakeholders from regional and local institutions.
The insights and discussions that unfolded helped to inform and strengthen ICLEI Europe’s ongoing support for cities across the continent: for local and regional governments, resilience was shown not as an abstract concept but as a lived, daily practice shaped by people in their communities and the realities of specific places. Participants came together to share strategies, initiatives, and practical actions addressing climate change adaptation, disaster risk management, and the broader cultivation of urban resilience.
The 2025 edition, co-organised with the City of Rotterdam, specifically focused on accelerating resilience action. Consistent with the forum’s tradition, it upheld an open and interactive format that avoided traditional presentations, fostering instead dialogue and collaboration. This format ensured that all participants are engaged and feel part of the process.
