Bringing together 12 European partners from academia, research, technology, architecture, and industry, Le’  Colaz launched in September 2025 with the aim to accelerate the transition toward low-carbon, adaptable, and resilient buildings that respond to Europe’s growing environmental and societal challenges. 

At the heart of Le’ Colaz is a LEGO-inspired modular construction concept, combining bio-based and recycled materials, advanced snap-fit components, and digital and AI-powered technologies.

The approach goes beyond developing new building components. It seeks to create a more flexible construction system in which buildings can be assembled, adapted, disassembled, and reused according to changing needs.

Over the next 35 months, Le’ Colaz will validate its solutions through Living Labs in Athens and Trondheim, demonstrating how circular and smart construction systems can improve energy efficiency, adaptability, resource optimisation, and building resilience in real-world environments. By integrating circular design principles with digital tools and intelligent monitoring, Le’ Colaz aims to make buildings more resource-efficient, adaptable, and resilient, while reducing their environmental impact throughout their lifecycle. For E2ARC, being part of this process means contributing to an EU collaboration that connects architectural thinking, technological innovation, and sustainability to address some of the most pressing challenges facing the built environment.
